Folk music has had a big influence on other genres in Swedish music culture and is often incorporated even in modern pieces, and the harmonies are often used again and again in everything from singer/songwriter pieces to house and jazz. The tradition lives on even in younger generations as we can see in the video where a modern tune is played on a traditional Scandinavian instrument by a rather young person.
