Another strong Swedish tradition is the summer campfire musician aka the Guitar Guy. If you are having a barbeque, picnic or other outdoors get together chances are that the Guitar Guy is going to be there waiting with his guitar for the sun to set. Then he will take out his guitar and start strumming songs about summer and love which everyone seems to be able to sing along to, whether they like them or not. The Guitar Guy tradition is so strong that some of our biggest pop stars from the 80’s-90’s where just that: Guitar Guys. And when the campfire Guitar Guy pulls out his guitar he automatically is associated with every other Guitar Guy, from big to small, for good to bad, for the rest of the night.
